Asbestos: The Human Cost of Corporate Greed

To coincide with International Workers' Memorial Day, on April 28, 2006 the GUE/NGL of the European Union published a forty page dossier entitled: Asbestos: The Human Cost of Corporate Greed. The briefing gives details of a pan-European epidemic of asbestos disease and contamination which pervades Member States as well as accession countries. Delegates from Ukraine, the Czech Republic, Poland, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Greece and elsewhere detailed the price being paid by workers and the public for hazardous exposures to asbestos experienced in their countries.
