The Truth Is Out There!
Sales-driven science advanced by the asbestos industry is carefully designed to create doubt in the minds of decision makers, customers and workers about asbestos hazards even though a consensus had long ago been reached regarding the deadly effects of exposure to asbestos.
In a series of recent video interviews, six eminent scientists endorse the scientific consensus on asbestos hazards and give their views on the nature of the asbestos industry, both historically and in its current growth area: Asia. Among a number of lies debunked is the myth that Asians might be immune to cancers caused by asbestos.
While the films currently feature interviews with leading scientists and doctors in the USA and Canada, their contributions will soon be joined by interviews with scientists and doctors from around the world all of whom wish to demonstrate that there is an international medical consensus that all forms of asbestos cause cancer, that the evidence against asbestos is conclusive, and that the only effective way of preventing asbestos-related diseases is to instigate a global ban on the use of asbestos.
Messages from the World's Scientists and Asbestos: The Facts are compilations of the above interviews (viewable at the bottom of this page) each focused on a number of key statements.

Key asbestos facts:
The launch of this project took place on July 3, 2013 during the annual seminar of the Parliamentary Asbestos Sub-Group in the House of Commons, where a short segment of one of the videos was shown by Laurie Kazan-Allen, the Coordinator of the International Ban Asbestos Secretariat (IBAS), during her presentation entitled: The Asbestos War. Subsequently, in addition to the compilations included in this article, individual interview segments featuring the topics bullet-pointed above are now available on this website (see: Video Downloads: Experts Speak Out), from where they can be downloaded in mp4 format by global activists and others. It is hoped that these videos will provide a useful resource for individuals and groups campaigning to end the use of asbestos.
